A Christmas Carol
by Charles Dickens
Adaptation by Patrick Barlow

Set to open on November 24, 2023 at Collaborative Theatre Project. It wouldn’t be Christmas without A Christmas Carol. In this new stage version, Patrick Barlow takes Charles Dickens’ classic story of greed, grief, ghoulish ghosts and eleventh-hour redemption, and makes it feel brand new again. This adaptation brings the timeless tale to life with just five actors and all the wit, flair and theatrical invention you’d expect from Patrick Barlow, who brought The 39 Steps to the stage so memorably.

Teaching Trashcan Shakespeare
At Southern Oregon University

Have you ever had a nerve-wracking nightmare you're performing in front of an audience, and you've never rehearsed the play?! What if it wasn't a nightmare but a thrilling dream? What if I told you that dream could be a reality?! Enter Trashcan Shakespeare. During this course, you will be assigned your part, learn your lines, NEVER rehearse, and perform TWICE for an OSF Green Show. This is a fast-paced course in Shakespeare performance based on a blending of Shakespearean "rehearsal" techniques and modern classroom dynamics. This process has been workshopped and performed with 17 plays and over 200 actors in the Los Angeles area. If you take this course the most important thing you will learn is: when you're about to fall, that's the moment right before you fly.

“They Call Me The Widow Maker"

Tommy is currently developing a directing project with CoLab Theatre Company. The script will be written by Liz Lanier and is currently in the drafting and workshopping phase.

Widow Maker will explore themes of dependency and belonging through the lens of lumberjack mythology. With amazing monsters such as the agropelter (who throws branches on your head), hugag (who leans against old trees to knock them down), hide behind (that’s always there when you’re not looking), and goofus bird (who works diligently to build his nest upside down).

Village Barn Playhouse

In the country fields of Kingsburg sits a giant red barn with worlds of potential inside. Village Barn Playhouse is a new theatre company being built from the ground up with their first production coming last year.

Tommy is a consulting producer working, with Artistic Director Cheryl Ann Carlson, to help develop the new regional theatre. In the fall of 2021 he directed their production of “Barefoot In The Park” by Neil Simon.
